- Panch means – five, paanch, 5 and Kedar means – Shiva (kedar is the local name of Shiva in Garhwal region).
- Panch Kedar refers to five Hindu temples dedicated to god Shiva located in the Garhwal Himalayan region in Uttarakhand, India. It is believed that these temples were created by Pandavas, the heroes of the Hindu epic Mahabharata.
- The order of the Panch Kedar temples are as follows:-
- Kedarnath Temple (11,755 ft)
- Rudranath Temple (11,677 ft)
- Tungnath Temple (12,106 ft)
- Madhyamaheshwar Temple (11,450 ft)
- Kalpeshwar Temple (7,200 ft)
- Meet up at pick point around 6 to 7 Am.
- After meeting our trek leader at pick up point, travel towards
- Sonprayag/Sitapur via Devprayag & Dhari Devi Temple.
- Reach Sonprayag/Sitapur at night.
- Stay will be there at hotel for that night.
- Dinner will be served there.
- After breakfast, we will travel towards Gaurikund (5.2 kms).
- From Gaurikund, we will start our trek to Kedarnath temple (18 Kms).
- We will reach Kedarnath at 2 Pm to 6 Pm depending on your walking speed/stamina.
- After reaching at Kedarnath temple, visit temple or do check-in to hotel, it’s up to you.
- You will have free time to explore temple and nearby places.
- At night, we will stay there and dinner will be served there at hotel.
- Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will head back to Sonprayag/Sitapur via Devprayag.
- After reaching Sitapur/Sonprayag, we will travel towards Ransi Village (starting point of the trek Madhyamaheshwar temple).
- We will take a break at Guptkashi for lunch (by your own).
- After lunch, we will travel towards Ransi village.
- Reach Ransi village at night, take rest there at hotel/homestay/camps.
- Dinner will be served there.
- After breakfast, we will travel for around 2 kms and then will start our trek to Nanu via Gaundar.
- Lunch will the at Gaundar by your own and after lunch we will continue our trek to Nanu.
- We will reach Nanu at evening or may be at night, depends on the situations.
- Night stay will be at Nanu and dinner will be served there.
- After breakfast, we will start our trek to Madhyamaheshwar Temple.
- After 3 to 5 hrs of trek we will reach to Madhyamaheshwar temple.
- We will spend our time there and will explore nearby places.
- Night stay will be there at tents/homestay.
- Dinner will be served there.
- Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will head back to Ransi village.
- After reaching Ransi village, take some time for your lunch (by your own).
- After lunch, travel towards Chopta Valley.
- Reach Chopta at evening or may be at night.
- Do check-in to your camps.
- After reaching there, take some rest, store some energy for your next day trek to Tungnath temple and Chandrashila summit.
- Dinner will be served there.
- After breakfast, we will do a trek of around 5 kms to Tungnath Temple & Chandrashila summit.
- After spending some time there, we will head back to chopta.
- After reaching Chopta, we will travel towards Saggar Village.
- We will reach there at night, stay will be there at night.
- Dinner will be served there.
- After breakfast, we will start our trek to Panar Bugyal which is around 11 to 13kms.
- This trek is full of excitement and as we do our trek through dense forest area.
- We will reach Panar Bugyal at evening or at night.
- We will stay there for that night (homestay/tents).
- Dinner will be served there.
- After breakfast, start your trek to Rudranath temple.
- We will witness Pitradhar and Panch Ganga, enroute to Rudranath temple.
- Reach Panar Bugyal at night.
- After reaching there, we will spend some time there, and then head back to
- Panar Bugyal.
- Stay and dinner will be served there.
- After breakfast, head back to Saggar Village.
- After reaching there, travel towards Urgam Valley.
- After reaching there, visit Kalpeshwar Temple (only kedar which remains open throughout the whole year).
- Night stay will be at Urgam Valley.
- Dinner will served there.
- After breakfast, say goodbye to this beautiful journey and head back to Haridwar.
- Reach Haridwar at night.
- End of the journey.
