On the Dayara Bugyal Trek, you’ll encounter stunning green meadows, known as “Bugyals,” that stretch across the Himalayas. Among these, Dayara Bugyal stands out, reaching an impressive height of 12,000 feet and covering an area of 28 square kilometers. This enchanting meadow offers breathtaking views throughout the year—during winter, it transforms into a dazzling blanket of snow, attracting winter trekkers, while in summer, the landscape bursts with vibrant shades of green and colorful flowers in hues of yellow, violet, and white. The trek itself connects Haridwar to these majestic heights. The journey begins at Barsu, the base camp situated at 7,545 feet, a charming village that boasts views of lush valley slopes on one side and the towering, snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas on the other. Situated approximately 32 kilometers from Uttarkashi, the trek leads you through dense forests filled with majestic oak and pine trees, alongside the Bhagirathi River. You’ll wander across vibrant green meadows and navigate bubbling streams and rivulets.
